Following the processes of natural forest development, this project introduces an early successional ecosystem of plants which will thrive in the old field as it is today, to be potentially replaced by later successional species when the conditions have developed further. Rather than the extensive work to prepare the site and then maintain species not adapted to the existing conditions, the site can be influenced and changed by introducing fast growing early successional plants which will require less active maintenance work.
